Bangladesh women dominate Nepal 3–0 to move top of table

Bangladesh women’s national futsal team continued their impressive run in the SAFF Women’s Futsal Championship 2026 with a commanding 3–0 victory over Nepal at the Nonthaburi Stadium in Bangkok.

From the opening minute, Bangladesh played aggressive, attacking futsal and created several scoring opportunities. Although a few early chances went begging, the breakthrough soon arrived.

In the 14th minute, captain Sabina Khatun broke the deadlock with a superb finish. Just five minutes later, Krishna Rani Sarkar, who had provided the assist for the first goal, doubled the lead in the 19th minute, as Bangladesh went into halftime leading 2–0.

Bangladesh maintained their dominance in the second half, controlling possession and dictating the tempo of the game. Despite missing several clear chances, the red-and-green side extended their lead in the 33rd minute when substitute Lipi Akter found the net with a well-taken goal to make it 3–0.

Goalkeeper Swapna Akter Jhili delivered a standout performance, producing a series of excellent saves and ensuring Bangladesh kept a clean sheet.

Bangladesh have enjoyed a strong start to their SAFF Women’s Futsal Championship campaign. They opened the tournament with a 3–1 win over India, followed by a spirited 3–3 draw against Bhutan after coming back from a two-goal deficit.

With the win against Nepal, Bangladesh now have seven points from three matches and sit at the top of the points table, underlining their growing confidence and consistency in the tournament.
