BFF gets BSRM as development partner for 10 years

The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has signed a landmark 10-year agreement with BSRM, making the steel giant its official development partner. The ceremonial signing took place at the BFF House on Wednesday.

The long-term partnership aims to accelerate the development of football in Bangladesh, with both organizations committing to a shared vision of strengthening the sport’s foundation and ensuring sustainable progress.

BFF president Tabith Awal attended the ceremony along with vice-president and marketing committee chairman Fahad Karim. Speaking to the media, Tabith expressed optimism about the new collaboration.

“We are delighted to have a development partner like BSRM,” he said. “There will be an annual calendar of activities. We want to strengthen the pipeline.”

Tabith also highlighted priorities such as nationwide scouting, talent identification, and shifting from small-scale competitions to larger tournaments to ensure systematic development of football across the country.

Fahad Karim noted that both men’s and women’s football will benefit from the sponsorship. He said the specific areas of investment would be finalized after further discussions between the two parties.

“We expect big things from this partnership,” said Fahad. “BFF has never had a sponsor for a 10-year period before. This is the first time the federation is getting an official development partner.”

BSRM was represented at the signing by Managing Director Aameir Alihussain, Finance Director Zohair Taherali, and Director Abdul Qadir Zohair.

“We are the No. 1 brand, and football is the best sport in the world,” said Alihussain. “The sport has huge potential in Bangladesh. That is why we are here. We want to see Bangladesh reach the World Cup one day. I’m confident the country will produce many young stars in the future.”

The financial details of the sponsorship were not disclosed.
