National football head coach Lodewijk de Kruif termed Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Fact Finding Committee’s verdict, that he was not fully focused on his job, as absolute rubbish yesterday.
The Fact Finding Committee of BFF found some cases of negligence or indifference against the Dutch and cautioned him, as far as his training methods and discipline were concerned, but Kruif said, “I gave more than hundred percent and that was totally rubbish. People don’t know what we are giving. I listened to the players. No coach in the country worked hard than I worked. At the end of the day, the coach is responsible for the result. I am national team’s coach and I took all responsibility. Let me say one thing, I was not attentive is a nonsense I have ever heard.”
He also said the FFC is not a judging committee. “Fact-finding committee is, in my opinion, not a judging committee. They had impression; they heard something from here, something from there. That was not hundred percent truths. You can talk hundred percent if you were there and you have hundred percent knowledge. So I can polish up and clear the name of Yamali because what he did was from his own side, from his experience, talk with the players, talk with doctor and view reports of hospital, then players made the decision. We talked to the players, players said coach I really want to go, coach I beg you, take me to the SAFF tournament, coach I want to fight for the country,” said de Kruif.
About going back to Netherland from Thailand the coach said, “BFF promised me when you come back to country you would bring your family and we would arrange everything, but they postponed again and again. I went to my country and heard there was no arrangement and I came back with empty hands.”
He also explained why he missed the flight to Nepal. “My attendant Mohsin was in front of the car to the airport and suddenly there was a strike from garment people, few hundred, they were dangerous, then we turned back to take a sneaky way and unfortunately missed the flight, there was no body to blame I think.”
However he praised the effort of the FFC. “Last thing I want to say that the Fact Finding Committee is of course good as people intend to help developing the football,” concluded de Kruif.
