Afeida Khandaker, the skipper of Bangladesh in the just concluded historic AFC Women's Asian Cup qualifying campaign, is going to captain the girls in red and green in the SAFF Under-20 Women’s Championship 2025 as well.
Bangladesh Football Federation announced the 23-member playing squad Wednesday.
As many as nine players from the Asian Cup qualifying squad will be in the U-20 squad.
Most of them were on the bench during the three Asian Cup qualifying matches held in Yangon, Myanmar from June 29 to July 5.
Only Afeida and Sapna Rani were selected as regular starters in Yangon.
Other seven players are Mosammat Sagorika, Munki Akter, Joynob Rita, Umehla Marma, Nabiran Khatun, Swarna Rani Mandal and Mile Akter.
Peter Butler remained as the head coach of the team.
India will not participate in the competition.
A total four teams - Nepal, Sri Lanka, the Maldives and Bangladesh - will face each other twice in round robin league format.
The top finisher will be crowned as champion.
The competition will take place at the Kings Arena from July 11 to 21.
Bangladesh will kick off their campaign against Sri Lanka in the inaugural tie.
