The Plan U-15 Girls Football Championship, organized by Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) and sponsored by Plan International Bangladesh, will get underway across the country at the end of October.
The tournament will be held in all of the country’s 64 districts in three phases – district, divisional and national rounds.
The tournament was announced to press at a colorful press conference at the National Music and Drama Center auditorium on Sunday. Bangladesh Football Federation president Kazi Salahuddin, director of field operations for Plan International Debashish Saha, chairman of the women’s wing of BFF Serajul Islam Bachchu, deputy chairman women’s wing BFF Mahfuza Akhter Kiron and general secretary of the BFF Abu Naeem Shohag were among those present on the occasion.
“We look forward to promoting women’s football across the country. We thank Plan International for stepping up and contributing to the development of football,” said Salahuddin.
BFF will select a group of 20 players from the tournament and arrange long term training for them.
