Australian expatriate footballer Arham makes Bangladesh U17s debut

Australian expatriate footballer Arham Islam made his Bangladesh debut when he featured for the national Under-17 side against hosts Cambodia in the AFC U-17 Asian Cup 2025 qualifiers at National Sports Complex in Phnom Penh Saturday.

Arham was included in coach Saiful Bari Titu’s starting XI and played on the left wing wearing No. 21 jersey as Bangladesh lost 1-0 after conceding a late goal.

In Australia, Arham played for top-tier A-League outfit Western United Football Club’s U-21 team.

His parents are both Bangladeshis.

Bangladesh are placed in Group B in the U-17 Asian Cup qualifiers alongside Philippines, Afghanistan, Macau and hosts Cambodia.

The youngsters in red and green will next face Philippines Wednesday.
