The Bangladesh football team played out a goalless draw against the higher-ranked Sudan in a closed-door practice match in Taif, Saudi Arabia, Sunday night.
As part of their preparation for the FIFA World Cup Qualifier matches against Palestine, Javier Cabrera's charges held the 127th-ranked side in the first of two practice games.
"Some 24 players played, and everyone performed well, taking one more step forward in the preparation," said the Spanish head coach of Bangladesh, adding that the team are moving in the right direction.
In a video message sent by the Bangladesh Football Federation Monday, Cabrera also said the result was not the priority but the performance.
"It was an important day not because of the result, which wasn't the priority in any case, but the focus was on how much we evolved after coming here in the last seven days, and it was a very positive performance."
The men in red and green will play another practice game against Sudan Thursday before heading to Kuwait to play the away match against Palestine on March 22.
