Dhaka Tribune progressed to the semi-finals of the 2024 Kool-BSJA Media Cup Football after beating Boishakhi TV in Friday’s quarter-final at the artificial turf of Bangladesh Football Federation.
DT went behind early in the second half for the first time in the tournament as Boishakhi took the lead very much against the run of play.
DT struck the post as many as four times during the match and soon brought parity to take the game into penalties.
DT prevailed 4-3 in the tiebreaker to set up a semi-final meeting with The Business Standard, scheduled to kick off Saturday morning at 9am.
The other semi will see Jugantor take on Jamuna TV, which will be followed by the grand finale on the same day at 11am.
The five-day, 32-team tournament, organized by Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association, got underway Tuesday.
