The man who brought legends like Pele and Diego Maradona to India spoke of the possibility of bringing Lionel Messi to Bangladesh.
While talking about Argentine World Cup winner Angel Di Maria’s projected tour to Dhaka in late May, Satadru Dutta, the sports entrepreneur based in Kolkata, said Tuesday he is also trying to arrange a tour of Messi to Bangladesh and India next.
“I’m absolutely on it (to bring Messi to Bangladesh),” Satadru told Dhaka Tribune.
“Who is left in Argentina after Di Maria?” he said before adding, “There is only one left.
“I can’t say 100%. I’m working on it.”
Satadru plans to make a trip to the US where Messi is currently plying his trade for Inter Miami in Major League Soccer.
Carrying an Argentina national football team jersey where Di Maria wrote “Senor Papon” for Bangladesh’s sports minister Nazmul Hasan, Satadru just landed back in Kolkata from Argentina.
He visited Messi’s birthplace and hometown Rosario during the tour.
Satadru was also the key man behind Argentine World Cup hero Emiliano Martinez’s maiden tour of Dhaka in July last year.
He also brought former Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho to Bangladesh for the first time in October last year.
