Jamal Bhuiyan is set to leave Argentine club Sol de Mayo after agreeing terms to join Abahani Limited for the second phase of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League.
Kazi Nabil Ahmed, the director-in-charge of Abahani, confirmed the agreement with the Bangladesh skipper.
“He (Jamal) will play for Abahani in the second leg. The agreement is done,” Nabil told Dhaka Tribune Tuesday.
Jamal kicked off his South American journey when he signed for Sol de Mayo in August last year.
He also scored a goal to lead Sol de Mayo to victory on his debut.
Abahani’s Argentine head coach Diego Andres Cruciani showed interest to sign former disciple Jamal after he joined the Sky Blues this season.
Cruciani and Jamal had earlier worked together at now defunct Saif Sporting Club during the 2021-22 Bangladesh Premier League season.
The duo are now set to begin a new chapter in the Sky Blue brigade.
Since Jamal, the Denmark-born midfielder, started playing in Bangladesh in 2012, Abahani were his first club.
He then played for Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra, Saif Sporting and Chittagong Abahani respectively.
