Nameplate of Swadhin Bangla Football Team inaugurated

Members of the famous Swadhin Bangla Football Team were honored by Bangladesh Football Federation with the inauguration of new nameplate at BFF House Saturday.

The language of the latest nameplate is in both Bangla and English.

BFF president Kazi Salahuddin and Swadhin Bangla Football Team manager Tanveer Mazhar Tanna inaugurated the nameplate on the occasion of Victory Day.

Salahuddin himself was one of the players of Swadhin Bangla Football Team who travelled across India and played exhibition matches to raise awareness and fund for the 1971 Liberation War.

Other members of the historic squad including Sheikh Ashraf Ali, Aminur Islam Suruz, Md Mozzamel Haque, Abdus Sattar and Subhash Chandra Saha were also present at the opening ceremony.

Some footballers of Swadhin Bangla Football Team have passed away, few made new homes abroad while others are at the late stage of their life.

A total of 36 Swadhin Bangla Football Team members, including 34 players, are depicted in the nameplate.
