Bangladesh Under-17 women’s football team suffered a 3-1 defeat against Philippines in their second match of the Asian Football Confederation Women’s U-17 Tournament at Youth Football Training Center in Hanoi Friday.
This was their second consecutive loss after opening the final round campaign with a 2-0 defeat to hosts Vietnam last Wednesday.
Isabella gave Philippines the lead in just the third minute before Sagorika brought parity for Bangladesh only a minute later with a fine individual effort.
Philippines got a penalty at the half hour mark but Bangladesh goalkeeper Rupa Chakma stopped the spot-kick.
However, in the very next minute, Naina made it 2-1 for Philippines, finding the back of the net from a through pass.
Jelena added the third goal for the winning side from a corner in the fifth minute of time added on.
Bangladesh will round off the group phase against Australia at the same venue Sunday.
The girls in red and green advanced to the second round of the competition after emerging Group D champions in the first round following a 6-0 thrashing of Turkmenistan and 3-0 victory over hosts Singapore last April.
