Kazi Nabil Ahmed, the convener of the probe committee investigating the FIFA ban on former general secretary of Bangladesh Football Federation Abu Nayeem Shohag, has submitted their report Sunday.
The 12th and last meeting of the inquiry committee led by Nabil was held at BFF House on the same day after which the report was handed over to the BFF president Kazi Salahuddin.
“The report was submitted to the president. We have nothing more to say here. After three months of investigation, we handed over the report to the president for presentation before the executive committee,” Nabil told reporters afterwards.
“All subsequent action will be taken by the executive committee. Hopefully, if the report that we have given is implemented, it will be possible to manage BFF activities more efficiently in the future,” he added.
The BFF vice president said they have their own findings and recommendations from the investigation but could not disclose them.
“We have mentioned our findings in the report. That's part of the report, so I can't say anything about it here. We looked deeply into FIFA's allegations. There were other matters connected with it, which may have been preserved later in BFF. We have tried to do it in a completely fair way. We have made a decision after discussing with all the committee members,” said Nabil, also the chairman of the National Teams Committee.
“There are also some recommendations. We have formed this committee to speed up the activities of BFF so that these questions do not arise in the future. Those who work in the future may work from our findings so that such complaints do not come from FIFA or AFC.”
The probe committee was formed on April 17 by the BFF executive committee, three days after world football's governing body suspended Shohag for two years due to financial irregularities.
