Bangladesh men's Olympic football team have been drawn with India while the women's national side got pitted against Nepal as the draw of the football event of Asian Games 2023 took place Thursday.
Bangladesh were placed in Group A alongside China, Myanmar and India in the men's football draw while the women were drawn in Pool D along with Japan, Vietnam and Nepal.
There are total 23 countries divided into six groups in men's football while the number of participating teams in women's football is 17 in five pools.
This is the first time Bangladesh are going to participate in the women's football event of the Asiad.
The 19th edition of the Asian Games was earlier scheduled to be held last year but Covid pandemic forced the mega event to be postponed.
The Games is rescheduled to take place from September 23 to October 8 this year in Hangzhou featuring a total of 482 events from 40 sports.
