Bangladeshi fans of Spanish giant Real Madrid celebrated the first anniversary of their official recognition on October 22 in the capital.
According to the fans, Pena Madridista All Whites Bangladesh, a group of Bangladeshi Real Madrid fans, got the recognition of official fans group in international fans category from the Spanish club on October 22 of last year.
Fans across the country gathered at a hotel of the capital to celebrate the anniversary. Although the group has thousands of fans, very few of them got the chance to attend the event due to the ongoing pandemic situation, said the group official.
Md Billal Hossain, president of the fans group said that the main purpose of this fan club is to maintain connectivity with all Real Madrid fans of the country, to contribute to the development of country’s football, and to be involved in various social development activities.
Arman Shahrukh Tusher, general secretary of the fans club said that as the top football club of the world, Real Madrid has such official fan groups in different countries. It is a great pleasure that this fans club is representing Bangladesh as the official fan club of the royal club.
According to the officials, the group started its journey in 2013 with the Bangladeshi supporters of Real Madrid and gained official recognition from the Spanish giant Real Madrid in 2020.
Along with supporting Real Madrid, this fan group is working to develop the country’s football in many ways. They are also working on the tree plantation, prevention of environmental pollution, and raising awareness against drug addiction.
