PM gives nod to Bangabandhu Gold Cup

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave the green light to the Bangladesh Football Federation’s plans for the Bangabandhu Gold Cup Football yesterday.

Kazi Salahuddin, the president of Bangladesh Football Federation went to the Prime Minister’s office to request her assistance in the process of hosting a genuinely international standard football tournament.

“I am very happy to say that the honourable Prime Minister responded positively about hosting the tournament and said it should possess true international flavor. From now on, I will make an all-out effort to host the tournament,” said Salahuddin.

Bangladesh Football Federation last hosted an international tourney back in 1996. Since then, all the international meets hosted by BFF were either AFC of Saff affiliated meets.
