Bangladesh U-17 women's team outplayed hosts Singapore 3-0 at Jalan Besar Stadium in Kallang Sunday to advance to the second round of AFC U-17 Women's Asian Cup 2024 qualifiers.

Forward Sauravi Akanda Prity stole the show with a brace, scoring one each in each half in front of hundreds of immigrant Bangladeshi supporters who live in Singapore.

Prity opened the scoring in the 21st minute from a penalty before adding another in the 55th minute from the spot.

Forward Sultana Akter extended the lead to 3-0 just after the hour mark.

Bangladesh, placed in Group D, thrashed Turkmenistan 6-0 in their first opening-round match at the same venue last Wednesday.

United Arab Emirates were also placed in the same group but the West Asian nation withdrew their name later.

As group champions, Bangladesh progressed to the second round which will be played between September 16 and 24 this year.

The final round will be held in Indonesia between April 7 and 20 in 2024 where a total of eight teams including four from qualifiers will compete.

Indonesia will play the tournament as hosts while Japan, North Korea and China qualified for the finals after finishing among the top three in the last edition.
