Sheikh Russel may not release Jamal to play in Argentina

Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra have all but decided not to release national team captain Jamal Bhuiyan to play in Argentina this season, club directors told Dhaka Tribune.

“It's not final yet but I think the club will not let him go,” said Russel director Saleh Jaman Selim.

“We heard it's a third-division club and not better than us. The team management doesn't want to release Jamal,” he added.

Jamal earlier reportedly agreed to play for Sol de Mayo who compete in the Argentine third-tier professional league Torneo Federal A.

“The club [Sol de Mayo] didn't contact us. If they officially reached us for Jamal as he is under contract, we would have thought differently,” said Md Fakhruddin, finance director of Russel.

“Currently we have no choice as he is a vital player in our squad and we have no alternative of him in midfield,” he added.
