Boishakhi Television emerged as the champions of the Kool-Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association Media Cup Football Tournament for the first time after defeating Channel i in the final at Bangladesh Football Federation's artificial turf in Dhaka Wednesday.
After the stipulated time ended 1-1, the game rolled into the shootout as Boishakhi won the tie-breaker 4-2.
Channel i earlier edged past DBC News 1-0 in the first semi-final before Boishakhi thrashed Kalbela 3-0 in the other last-four encounter.
Former national footballer Sheikh Mohammad Aslam was the chief guest of the final while head of marketing of Square Toiletries Dr Jesmin Jaman graced the occasion as special guest.
A total of 32 media houses took part in the competition.
