“Thank you Bangladesh. Thank you Kerala, India, Pakistan. Your support was wonderful!” reads the post from Selección Argentina, the official Twitter handle of the Argentina football team.
Throughout the game, fans from Bangladesh had been cheering for the Latin American team, led by Lionel Messi.
Argentina football fans in Dhaka and elsewhere in the country celebrated the South American nation's triumph over France in the World Cup final with festivity on Sunday.
Thousands of people were seen on the streets in the capital chanting "Messi, Messi" after Argentina won the breathtaking match in penalties.
Outside Dhaka, people defied chilly weather and brought out processions with flags wearing Argentina's sky-blue-and-white jerseys.
Meanwhile, the airplane transporting World Cup winners Argentina and their captain Lionel Messi back from Qatar arrived at the Ezeiza international airport in Buenos Aires at 2:40am (0540 GMT) on Tuesday.
Having beaten France in Sunday's thrilling final, the players will now spend the night at the Argentine Football Association (AFA) training complex near the airport, where thousands of supporters are waiting to greet them.
They will then begin a tour of the Buenos Aires city center from midday on Tuesday with millions expected out in the streets on what is a public holiday.
