Bangladesh Football Federation has found evidence of a fixed match in the country's fourth-tier competition titled Bashundhara Group Second Division Football League 2021-22.
The disciplinary committee of BFF took action last Wednesday by punishing the two clubs involved in match fixing after the fixed match identifying committee had submitted its reports earlier.
The two clubs are BG Press Sports and Recreation Club and Khilgaon Football Academy who were involved in fixing during a game between the two sides held on October 12, 2022.
The committee cancelled the fixed match, which means the two sides will not get any point and goal advantage from that game.
It also cut off three points from BG Press' total points.
BG Press' general secretary, Shikdar Moshiur Rahman, head coach Md Delowar Hossain and team manager Md Rafiqul Islam Sarkar, and Khilgaon academy's president Hazi Md Nazrul Islam, general secretary Md Rafiqul Islam, head coach Md Habibur Rahman and team manager Faruk Ahmed have been banned from all football activities for six months.
Both clubs were also fined Tk5 lakhs each.
Five players of BG Press – Salman Rahman, Mostafizur Rahman, Shahin Alam Pranto, Swadhin Biswas and Mehedi Hasan - have been banned from all football action for six months, while Md Tanis Mia has been suspended for three months.
Head coach of East End Club, Md Sagar Hossain, was also found involved in match fixing and thus banned from football for one year and fined Tk1 lakh.
