Bangladesh continued their winning streak in the AFC U-17 Asian Cup Qualifiers as they defeated Bhutan 2-0 in their second Group E match in the capital’s Kamalapur Friday.
The hosts went ahead early in the game when Nazim Uddin headed home a high cross of Asadul Molla from the right flank.
The second goal also came from a header after the break.
This time Moltagim Alam Hemel met skipper Imran Khan’s long cross before sending the ball into the far post.
Meanwhile, Yemen thrashed Singapore 6-0 in the other match of the day at the same venue.
Bangladesh earlier beat Singapore 2-1 in their opening match Wednesday.
Bangladesh take on Yemen Sunday and if the home side win, they will become group winners and qualify for the tournament finals.
A total of 44 countries are participating in the qualifiers split into 10 groups from where 16 best teams will qualify for the finals scheduled to be held in Bahrain in 2023.
