8 Saff champions accorded grand reception in Mymensingh

Mymensingh District Football Association (MDFA)  on Thursday accorded a floral reception for eight women footballers of Kalsindur who have brought glory to Bangladesh by winning the Saff Women’s Football Championship.

They are Sanjida, Maria Manda, Shamsunnahar(Junior) , Shamsunnahar (Senior), Sheuli Azim, Sajeda, Tahura Akhtar, and Marzia Akhtar.

The top officials of the federation received them with garlands at 12pm on a road in front of Community Based Medical College Hospital. 

Later, the eight victorious girls were taken to the circuit house on an open-deck vehicle.

Local people lined up on both sides of the road to welcome them.

Meanwhile, the District administration, district police, and football federation are set to welcome the Saff champions at Boishakhi Mancha of Shilpacharya Jaynul Park in the city at noon. 

Family members, neighbours, and football fans at remote Kalsindur village in Dubaora upazila of Mymensingh are eagerly waiting to welcome the eight women footballers of the national team.

The villagers are overwhelmed with joy and happiness as eight girls of the champion team are from Kalsindur village.

Five members of the national football woman team hailing from the greater Chittagong Hill Tract region, who won the Saff Championship in Nepal, were accorded a warm reception with torch procession in Rangamati district on Wednesday.
