Renowned sports organizer Kazi Nabil Ahmed MP will be conferred with the prestigious National Sports Award under the best organizer category in the year 2019.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel on Tuesday announced the names of 85 players and organizers selected for the award for their contributions from 2013 to 2020.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will deliver the awards as the chief guest through a virtual platform.
Kazi Nabil, who is also the current vice president of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to the sports arena.
“I am extremely delighted. I am grateful to the government for this award. I have been working in the sports arena…in the development of football for many years. This award will definitely encourage me to work harder for the betterment of our sports,” said Kazi Nabil.
“I am also expressing my sincere gratitude to the honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. This award will inspire me a lot. I express gratitude to the officials and supporters of my club Abahani Limited as well."
Kazi Nabil has been working in the sports arena as an organizer and in various roles for almost two decades.
He is the director-in-charge of Abahani. He has also been on the committee in this prestigious club since 2004. In 2000, he became director of Abahani.
Kazi Nabil has successfully carried out his duties as the vice president of BFF for three terms and is currently serving his fourth.
He is also the first-time vice president of the Bangladesh Olympic Association.
