Saif Sporting Club registered their second victory in the TVS Bangladesh Premier League beating Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society 3-1 at Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj Wednesday.
Forward Foysal Ahmed Fahim, Nigerian striker Emeka Ogbugh and attacker Maraz Hossain scored one each for the winning side while Nigerian forward Sunday Chizoba netted the consolation for Rahmatgtanj.
Foysal broke the deadlock in the 16th minute before Emeka doubled the lead in the 40th minute.
After the breather, Maraz bagged the third for Saif in the 66th minute while Sunday reduced the deficit by pulling one back in the 71st minute.
Saif clearly dominated the entire proceedings and notched deserving victory while Rahmatganj were totally off-color.
Saif will play their next match against Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra at the same venue Sunday while Rahmatganj meet Abahani Limited on the same day at Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Stadium in Tongi, Gazipur.
Earlier, Saif got off to a winning start in the league defeating Bangladesh Police Football Club 1-0 while it was the second defeat for Rahmatganj after they lost 1-2 to Chittagong Abahani Limited in their league opener.
In Thursday's game reigning champions Bashundhara Kings face Swadhinata Krira Sangha in Munshiganj.
Meanwhile, Chittagong Abahani split points with Sheikh Russel as the match ended in a 1-1 draw in Gazipur.
With the day’s outcome, Chittagong Abahani secured four points from two matches while Sheikh Russel bagged two points playing the same number of games.
Sheikh Russel went on early attacks and got rewarded when forward Mohammad Jewel scored in the 20th minute.
Nigerian forward Ebimobowei restored parity for the port city outfit in the 33rd minute.
After resumption, both the teams got several scoring chances to increase the margin, but failed to convert any of those into a goal.
Chittagong Abahani will face off against Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited in Munshiganj Monday.
Earlier, Sheikh Russel played out a 1-1 draw with Mohammedan in opening match.
