Messi appreciates fan support from Bangladesh

Argentina captain Lionel Messi, one of the greatest players of all time, admitted that he has seen and got to hear about the Bangladeshi football fans' passionate support for the Albiceleste, and expressed gratitude in a recent interview with Diario Ole.

When queried if he witnessed scenes of the mad following back in Bangladesh, Messi said, "Yes, I saw it all - the t-shirts everywhere, before the final. Seeing the ‘10' Argentina t-shirts from people around the world, of Messi, is a very beautiful thing."

In recent times, the dynamic support from Bangladeshi fans for the World Cup winners received its due recognition as their football federation's official twitter handle showed appreciation through a post on December 20.

Argentine people meanwhile, have also reciprocated the love as they were seen in various social media posts waving the Bangladesh flag during their post World Cup celebrations.

Bangladesh has a huge fanbase of Argentina and millions of fans celebrated the Sky Blue and White's journey throughout the 28-day tournament as Messi and Co eventually lifted the trophy in Qatar.

Thousands of people came out to the streets in capital Dhaka chanting "Messi, Messi" after Argentina won the breathtaking final against France on penalties.

According to Bangladesh Football Federation, there is an ongoing discussion to bring the Argentina team to Bangladesh this year, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
