U-14 booters off to Myanmar

A 21-member Bangladesh Under-14 football squad will fly to Myanmar today to take part in the AFC U-14 Championship qualifiers scheduled to begin in Nay Pyi Taw on May 28. This is the first time Bangladesh skipper Minhazur Abedin Rakib is travelling abroad and he was very excited about the trip. Team coach Uzzal Chakraborti Shibu is happy with the progress of the players' skill. "They have been practicing for months which developed their skills," said the coach at a press conference at the BFF House yesterday. Shibu also spoke about offering a better football and pledged to try to qualify for the final round. Bangladesh placed in the group ‘F’ will face Cambodia on May 28 at 4pm at the Zeyar Thiri Stadium before playing Indonesia, Laos, Singapore and Thailand at the same venue. The team will return to Dhaka on June 4. This is the first time AFC is organising U-14 football championship and the matches will be 30 minutes in length.
