Visiting the country for the first time Philippines national women's team head coach Ernie Nierras yesterday praised Bangladeshi people for their hospitality while at the same time he nitpicked about the accommodation facility provided.
The Philippines Maldatis are currently staying at Hotel Ornate which is located in Naya Paltan in the city. After completing their first training session yesterday, Ernie said, "Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has been very helpful. We didn’t have any problem, but there is some confusion about where we are supposed to stay. What we have been told and where we are staying now is not the same hotel. There are standards the AFC follows and they will address that issue." The Philippines team was scheduled to stay in Hotel 71 located in Bijoy Nagar, but BFF women's wing's deputy chairman Mahfuza Akter Kiron said that they had to shift the hotel for "internal problem". However, she claimed that the Hotel Ornate is also an AFC approved place like Hotel 71 and said that it's one of the finest hotel among the others.
