Expatriate footballers Ananda, Reasat confirm arrival

Ananda Rahman from Australia and Reasat Khaton from Germany, two among the three Bangladeshi expatriates included in the 29-member national preliminary squad for the India and Pakistan FIFA Friendlies, are expected to arrive in Dhaka on May 15 and May 20 respectively.

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), however, did not receive a response from the third expatriate Jamal Bhuiyan from Denmark regarding the date of his arrival to join the training camp. Jamal earlier tried his luck in 2011, but couldn’t make it into the main squad after failing to produce the required documents.

BFF are well aware of the incident and to avoid any situation again BFF’s general secretary Abu Nayeem Sohag said that the processing of the trio's required documents and passports will be underway as soon as they arrive in Dhaka.

However, BFF has no definite idea of how the three players made their way in the national preliminary squad through coach Lodewijk de Kruif and Rene Koster. Jamal is a midfielder while Anada plays in the left-wing, but the federation has no clue about Reasat’s position.

It was learnt that Kruif got hold of the three either during a talent hunt program, which the Dutch conducted in England in the first week of February with a total of 40 expatriates from Europe, or from their playing video clips sent to him.

The Dutch coaching duo Kruif and Rene Koster are expected to arrive on or before May 18 and take over the charges immediately.

Denmark-based Jamal represented the Denmark beach football team and was in Dhaka in 2011 to take part in a trial under Nikola Ilievski. However he failed to produce the passport in due time and had to leave. It was learnt that  Reasat is a 23-year-old midfielder who plays for German fifth-tier side BV Cloppenburg but his other whereabouts are not known.
