Ardeshir Pournemat, the coach of Dhaka Abahani ended his reign on a bitter note as the Iranian flew home to attend a training course before Abahani’s match with Erchim FC yesterday. Ardeshir did not attend the official pre-match press conference on Friday as assistant coach Amalesh Sen. Manager Satyajit Das Rupu admitted the development when he took the Iranian’s place. “Yes, Ardeshir Pournemat had left and the contract is also over” said Rupu. Local powerhouse Abahani’s new Iranian coach Ardeshir Pournemat exuded confidence and spoke of retaining the Bangladesh Premier League title after he arrived last year but he could not.
