Bangladesh Football Federation’s plan of two friendly match of Bangladesh men’s national team in Indonesia is postponed as some players are found not vaccinated for covid-19.
The team was supposed to play to matches on 24th and 27th February but in Bali but at least six players did not take any dose of the vaccine, which is a must to play the matches, while seven players have taken just a single shot so far.
“We were supposed to play two FIFA friendlies in Indonesia on 24th and 27th February. We were taking preparation accordingly. Our national team coach is coming to Dhaka on 15th January. We prepared players’ list as well. But from Indonesia we are informed each of the players and members of team management must be double vaccinated,” said National Teams Committee Chairman Kazi Nabil Ahmed through a video message on Thursday.
Nabil, who is also a vice-president of BFF, added, “According to team list 15 players are double vaccinated. Seven players are yet to take their second doses. So, we can’t go on with the tour.”
Nabil, however was hopeful they will be able to play during the FIFA window in March.
“We are hoping we will prepare the master list before the March window. There will be list of 40 to 50 players. We will try to ensure the vaccination of national and under-23 players, so that we may play the friendly matches,” said Nabil.
