Afusi all but happy

Josef Afusi, the Nigerian coach of Sheikh Jamal found some consolation in finishing runners-up in the Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League with a 2-1 win over Brothers Union, but was still uncertain about his future at the club yesterday. “Yes, it was a long journey and I will meet the club president tomorrow and settle the issue, I am going back home to see my family and I have not planned anything for the next season yet” said Afusi. Afusi termed this year’s league a competitive one. “This year there were four strong teams and the middle of table teams were also good, I tried my best to lift Jamal but finished second best, I don’t know how to evaluate the performance, overall it was more or less good,” said the Nigerian. When asked about what made the difference between Sheikh Russell and Jamal, Afusi provided a clear-cut answer. “Just see the players list of the Russell, in the 16 matches it was almost same. Take a look at Russell’s bench and the level of endurance and perseverance their players showed.”
