Bangladesh U-23 beat Abahani in practice match

Bangladesh U-23 football team defeated Abahani Limited 1-0 in a practice match at Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday afternoon. The friendly was part of Bangladesh U-23 side's preparation for the AFC U-23 Championship 2018 Qualifiers, which will be held in Palestine from July 19-23. Young winger Jafar Iqbal scored the only goal of the game in the 38th minute.

The national trial with 54 players was held early last month before a two-phase training camp took place at BKSP, Savar under the guidance of newly-appointed head coach, English-born Australian Andrew Ord. The BFF will announce the final squad on Saturday. Bangladesh U-23 are also likely to play friendly matches with foreign teams before the Qualifiers.
