Kings won’t release players yet for nat’l camp

Bashundhara Kings stated that they won’t release 14 squad members at least for the first two weeks of the Bangladesh national team practice camp, which begins with the reporting at the capital’s Fars Hotel Friday afternoon.

A total of 36 players were called up to the training camp ahead of the Fifa friendlies against Nepal in Dhaka on November 13 and 17.

Highest 14 players are included from the 2018-19 Bangladesh Premier League champion.

“Based on the [Fifa] calendar and regulations, Bashundhara will release their players from November 9 to 17. This is because Bashundhara players are in full practice from September 1 and they are in full fitness to join the Bangladesh national team on November 9,” stated a letter from the club to BFF dated Thursday.

The letter also added that midfielder Masuk Mia Jony and forward Matin Mia won’t be available for the two friendlies due to “long-term injury” and current “rehabilitation” process.
