Bangladesh Football Federation celebrated the 73rd birth anniversary of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the BFF House, while the men’s and women’s national team footballers poured warm wishes on social media.
BFF president Kazi Salahuddin along with senior vice-president Abdus Salam Murshedy, vice-president Kazi Nabil Ahmed and other executive committee members cut a cake and planted trees at the premises of the BFF House to mark the day.
Players and officials of different clubs, coaches, referees and BFF officials were present on the occasion.
National footballers posted photographs taken with the Prime Minister to greet her on Facebook and Instagram.
“You are very special. My wish for you on your birthday is that you will always be happy and healthy.” said national team captain Jamal Bhuiyan from Europe on his official page.
National women’s team forward Srimoti Krishna Rani Sarkar and youth team striker Tohura Khatun also sent birthday wishes with the latter mentioning PM as “nanu”, or grandmother.
