Aslam to put national award medal on auction

Sheikh Mohammad Aslam, the former legendary Bangladesh footballer, has decided to put up his national award winning medal and a pair of his favorite boots for auction to help the Covid-19 victims.

Aslam, one of the country’s finest strikers during the 1980s and 1990s, representing Abahani Limited for the majority of his career, won the national sports award in 2000.

“I want to make use of my national award during the transition phase of the country, and decided to put on auction. Discussion is going on with Auction 4 Action regarding the matter,” Aslam told this correspondent.

“I hope some rich, cultured people from Khulna would buy it and come forward to help the nation to face the pandemic by standing beside the vulnerable,” said Aslam, adding that the money from the auction will be provided to corona victims, including a big portion for the people in need in Khulna.

Aslam also decided to put up a pair of his football boots for auction.

Earlier, another legend, the late Monem Munna’s two jerseys were sold in auction, along with a jersey of former Fifa referee Taiyab Hasan.
