Brothers rope in Subrata as head coach

Brothers Union flew in Indian coach Subrata Bhattacharya on Wednesday as the new head coach of the club for the new football season 2016-17. His first assignment in Dhaka will be the Federation Cup, starting Saturday. Veteran Indian coach Syed Naeemuddin was earlier expected to manage Brothers but later joined Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited, leaving the Gopibagh outfit in a hurry to find a replacement. It will be the first time the 52-year old Subrata will get a taste of domestic football in Bangladesh. He came to Chittagong in 2015 for the Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup Tournament where he coached Chittagong Mohammedan. Subrata will get less than half a week with the club before the start of the Federation Cup. Brothers finished fourth in the Bangladesh Premier League last season and Subrata said he wants to improve on that position.
