It was business as usual on day two of the 14th Ascent Football Cup.
The 9:30am start Friday morning meant players were well-rested and raring to go with most teams getting to play their first game.
Title sponsor Ascent almost had to press the panic button when Beatnik took them to 2-0 in the first half with goals from Anayet and Galib.
However, Ascent regrouped and came back in the second half with six goals inside 10 minutes to take the game to their favor with hat-tricks from Rakin and Faruque.
The first half of the day saw many close encounters with BProperty losing to Akash 1-2.
Dhaka Tribune v Eon group was rather exciting with Dhaka Tribune's captain netting in two and Nahin one.
While the goal from Eon's captain Khairul gave them a fighting chance but alas they went down 3-2.
As the day went on the games started to settle with predictable scores.

Telenor beat Emkay 3-1, Brac Bank flexed their muscle, winning 4-0 against Lalteer while BATB wrapped it up with an empathic 6-2 win over Metronet.
Jaago v Petromax promised to be a well-fought game till Jaago took the game with three quick goals to end the game 4-1.
The first upset of the day came when Asutex took on heavyweight Bongo and won very convincingly with a powerful 4-0 show.
The second half of the day opened up a plethora of goals with Bando Design starting off from where they left off Thursday with yet another dominating performance.
Their precise passing and quick movement on the court had the opponent caught off guard with them netting in on the very first minute and ending with 11 goals against FMCL with captain Imran, Hamun and Shakil each scoring a hat-trick.
But let's not take anything away from FMCL, with a high spirited performance we are looking forward to seeing them come back stronger in the rest of their games.
The game between IIDFC and Porcelanosa would be the perfectly pitted game of the day with both teams playing attacking football and forcing errors from the opposition.
The game saw both teams leading and equalizing and great goals from centre-halves of the court before IIDFC proved just too strong for Porcelanosa ending the game with 5-3.

Securex v Interport game was rather exciting as Securex came back from behind and equalized within the first minute of conceding the goal, causing jubilant celebration from the team management and fans.
With a well balanced second half, just when the game was seeming to go for the first draw of the tournament, Interport's captain scored his second to see his team through.
2017 champion Comfit showed why they are one of the tournament favorites with a plethora of goals on each half of the game against IDLC.
In the end, they were just too strong for IDLC ending the game with 10-0.
IDLC showed true character and much improved performance in the second half and we hope they come back with better performance for the rest of the tournament.
