Bangladesh Under-16 girls will leave Dhaka tomorrow to participate the second qualifying round of the AFC U16 Women’s Championship 2019 which will be held in Myanmar from February 27 to March 3.
Bangladesh, who eased through the first round of qualifiers, will compete in Group B along with China PR, Philippines and hosts Myanmar in the second round of the qualifiers.
The top two teams in each group will finally join North and South Korea, Japan and Thailand in the final round of the tournament featuring eight teams separated in two groups. The event will be held in Thailand in September this year.
Bangladesh U-16 women’s team coach Golam Rabbani Choton, briefed the media accompanied by captain Maria Manda and her deputy Ankhi Khatun attended the program.
Prior to the tournament, the Bangladesh Football Federation arranged a press conference at BFF House today. Mahfuza Akhter Kiron, Asian Football Confederation's (AFC) female representative on the FIFA Council and Chairman of the BFF Women's Football committee, Md Abu Nayeem Shohag, General Secretary of BFF, Mr. Shams Hakim, Senior Officer of Dhaka Bank Limited, Mr. Paul Thomas Smalley, Technical & Strategic Director were also present.
