Bangladesh women’s football team were defeated 5-0 by a strong Myanmar in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Asian qualifiers’ opening match at Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon.
The women in red and green are in Group C and will next face India and Nepal in their last two games Sunday and Tuesday respectively at the same venue.
The Myanmar women scored goals in the 34th and 44th minute in the first half and bagged three more in the 61st, 84th and 89th minute of the game.
In the other Group C match, India and Nepal fought out a 1-1 draw.
The group champion from each pool and the two best runners-up sides from four groups will qualify for the second round of qualifiers.
