After Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna and Rangpur advanced to the semi-finals of the Bangabandhu National Gold Cup U-17 Football Tournament Wednesday at Bir Sreshtha Shaheed Mostafa Kamal Stadium.
In the first quarter-final, Rajshahi beat Mymensingh 4-2 on penalties after normal time failed to produce any goals. Rajshahi’s Naeem Hossain was adjudged player of the match.
In the second last-eight clash, Khulna edged Sylhet 2-1 and the winning side’s Minhajul Karim Shadhin was named player of the match.
In the last quarter-final of the day, Rangpur defeated Chittagong 2-0, player of the match Shamim Islam bagging a brace.
A day earlier, Dhaka had confirmed their semi berth after beating Barisal.
Dhaka will face Rajshahi in the first semi-final Thursday while Khulna will lock horns with Rangpur later in the day in the second last-four clash.
