Bangladesh U-15 boys leave for Nepal Tuesday

Bangladesh boys will leave here for Nepal Tuesday morning to take part in the Saff U-15 Championship, scheduled to get underway Thursday.

The 32-member squad will be coached by former Bangladesh footballer Mostafa Anwar Parvez Babu while assistant coaches Mahbub Alam, Jahan e Alam Noor e and Mizanur Rahman will be his deputies.

At the press conference at BFF House in Dhaka Monday, Mostafa said, “We have trained for two and a half months for this tournament. Our primary target will be to qualify for the semi-final. We will take it match by match. Since this is an age-level tournament, we don’t much about the oppositions. What’s more, we haven’t been able to avail match videos of our opponents.”

The boys in red and green have been pitted in Group A alongside Maldives and host Nepal. Group B comprises India, Pakistan and Bhutan.

The tournament will kick off with the match between India and Pakistan Thursday while Bangladesh will begin their campaign Saturday against Maldives.

Bangladesh will conclude their group stage campaign against the host nation Monday.

The group champions and runners-up sides will progress to the semi-finals, slated for November 1. The final will be held on November 3.
