The second edition of the International Club 7s, a platform for non-professional footballers, is all set to kick off in Dhaka’s International Turkish Hope School astro turf Wednesday evening.
Jointly managed by Amigos Sports Management and Leo Entertainment Sports Management, the tournament this season comprises 12 teams among which are Calcutta Parsee Club, UKFC and EuroAsian Legends who are flying in to participate from India and Spain respectively.
This year, the tournament proceedings will be donated to “Born To Smile” - an organisation that helps children in poverty while the organisers are trying to create an awareness among the youth with the tournament tagline "No Drug, Play Sports".
IC7s is powered by Porcelanosa Associate, Nupami BD Limited while Laila Group is the associate sponsor.
Earlier, with the vision to host every two years, the tournament opener was played in 2016 with Club 11 (Bangladesh) clinching the title.
Amigos FC, Club 11, Apparel Industry, Neo Zipper, Lions United, Comfit Composite, Pledge Harbour, ITHS, CEO's BD, Calcutta Parsee Club, UKFC and EuroAsian Legends are the participating teams this year.
