Bangladesh U-15 girls eye final berth

Nothing but a final berth will suffice for Bangladesh when they take on host Bhutan in the second semi-final of the Saff U-15 Women’s Championship Thursday at Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu. The match, beginning at 7pm Bangladesh Standard Time, will be played after the first semi-final between India and Nepal at the same venue at 4pm.

Bangladesh girls qualified for the last four after thrashing Pakistan 14-0 in their opening match. The girls in red and green then finished as group champion after beating Nepal 3-0, thus setting up a semi clash with the home side. Shamsunnahar will once again lead Bangladesh’s charge after scoring five teams against Pakistan, while Sajeda Khatun and Tahura Khatun have three goals each to their credit.

Both the third place decider will be held Saturday in Thimphu.
