Walton U-18 Football Tournament: Abahani, Brothers win big

Abahani Limited and Brothers Union reached the quarter-finals of the Walton U-18 Football Tournament 2018 after winning their last group stage match comfortably at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka Wednesday. Abahani handed Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra a crushing 4-0 defeat to finish their Group D campaign at the top. Apon Chandra Roy netted a brace, scoring in the fourth and 23rd minute, while Rimon Hossain and Mohammad Rony added one each in the 33rd and 78th minute respectively. Ashikur and Rahian scored a brace apiece as Brothers Union emerged as Group A champion after outplaying Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra 4-1 in the day's first match. Ashikur scored in the 23rd and 86th minute while Rahian netted in the 89th minute and injury time. Saiful scored the consolation goal for Sheikh Russel in the 78th minute. In the last match-day of the group stage Thursday at the same venue, Arambagh Krira Sangha will face Chittagong Abahani Limited in the first game before Lt.
