After Argentina's thrashing at the hands of Spain, Diego Maradona has tried to boost the morale of the Albiceleste fans with a supportive message on social media, reports Marca. Lionel Messi was watching the game from the stand as La Roja defeated his national team 6-1 in a friendly match at Estadio Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid.

"At this moment all that remains is to improve, let's go Argentina, as always," posted the former Barcelona player on Instagram, accompanying his message with a picture of the team's starters. Nicolas Otamendi scored Argentina's only goal in the match, while Isco hit a hat-trick for Spain with Diego Costa, Thiago Alcantara and Iago Aspas also finding the back of the net.
