Bangladesh girls off to flying start, thrash Nepal 6-0

Bangladesh girls made a flying start in the Saff U-15 Championship 2017 after handing Nepal a crushing 6-0 defeat in the second match of the inaugural day at Birsreshtha Shaheed Sepahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur Sunday afternoon. Tohura netted a brilliant hat-trick for the home side while Anuching scored a brace in the opening half after Monika opened the scoring. The goal-scoring trio are also key members of the U-16 national team. The girls in red and green showed great spirit and confidence from the very beginning. Tohura and Anuching continuously kept the opponent's defence busy throughout the entire tie. The host went close to scoring in the eighth minute when Marzia hit the woodwork on the rebound after Shamsunnahar's initial effort following a low Tohura cross was blocked by the Nepalese goalkeeper. Moments after Tohura's shot missed the target by a whisker, Monika put the home side ahead in the 11th minute with a left-footed strike from outside the right side of the box. The shot deflected off a Nepal defender before sneaking into the near post. Anuching doubled the lead three minutes later with a side-volley from a goal-mouth scramble after Akhi brought down Marzia's corner in front of the goal-scorer. Tohura extended the lead in the 32nd minute with a solo effort, breaking into the left side of the box before placing home calmly.

Anuching made it 4-0 in the added time of the first half, placing home past Kareena into the far post after receiving a pass from Tohura. After going close to scoring her second on several occasions, Tohura finally got her double in the 69th minute, smashing home into an empty net after Anuching's initial effort was cleared by a Nepal defender a yard away from the goal-line. Collecting a pass from Anuching, Tohura completed her treble in the 72nd minute firing home over the keeper with a left-footer from the middle of the box.RESULTBangladesh U15 6 (Monika 11, Anuching 14, 45+1, Tohura 32, 69, 72) 0 Nepal U15
