JFA U-14 National Women's Football Championship: Mymensingh, Thakurgaon into final

Mymensingh and Thakurgaon districts reached the grand finale of the JFA U-14 National Women's Football Championship 2017 after winning their respective semi-finals at Bangabandhu National Stadium Wednesday. Thakurgaon had to toil hard to beat Tangail district 3-1 in the penalty shootout after the stipulated 60-minute period ended 1-1 where Kalpana put the victor ahead in the third minute before Ila Moni cancelled the lead in the 44th minute. Mymensingh, on the other hand, found it easier against Rajshahi district as they won the second semi-final 4-0. Rony Akter netted a hat-trick, scoring in the 11th, 23rd and 68th minute while Salma Akter added the other in the 26th minute. Both the finalists had also won all their three group stage matches earlier to become group champion and reach the last four. The final will be held at BNS Friday at 3pm.
