Last respect paid to Abahani football legend Amalesh Sen

Dhaka Abahani Limited and different sports personalities and organisations of the country paid their last tribute to former Bangladesh midfielder and Shadhin Bangla football team member Amalesh Sen, who passed away in Dhaka on Saturday evening. Since the foundation of the country's most successful football club Abahani, Amalesh spent almost his entire playing and coaching career at the club till his last breath. Amalesh's body was taken to the club premises in Dhanmondi Sunday morning at around 10am where current and former national footballers, hockey players and cricketers, along with the organizers, gathered to show their respect with flower garlands. The body was covered with the Abahani flag. The club flag was flying at half-mast.

Ruling party Awami League's general secretary Obaidul Kader, Shadhin Bangla football team members Zakaria Pintoo and Pratap Shankar Hazra, BFF president Kazi Salahuddin and senior vice-president Abdus Salam Murshedy, former booters Golam Sarwar Tipu, Sheikh Mohammad Aslam, Jashim Uddin Joshi, Imtiaz Sultan Jony and Alfaz Ahmed, former cricketers Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu and Khaled Mashud Pilot and former hockey players Ibrahim Saber and Kamrul Islam Kismat were among the hundreds who were present to pay their tribute to the Abahani legend.
