The inaugural International Corporate 7’s Football Tournament kicked off in scintillating fashion with Bangladeshi garment Bando Design Ltd comprehensively beating Tex Corporation of India by 10-0 yesterday.
Shakil and Mridul of Bando netted a hat-trick each while Imran scored a brace for the winners. Tex, however, came back strongly in their next game as they defeated Italian chocolate manufacturer Perfetti van Melle by 4-0, courtesy of Tex captain Kapil’s double strike.
Hosts International Turkish Hope School suffered an upset as they were beaten by Neo Zipper 3-0. Adnan scored twice for Neo.
Later in the day, however, ITHS displayed their full strength to hand British Council a 6-1 defeat. Zubayeir Beyram, captain of ITHS, was named the man of he match award for slotting home two goals.
Earlier, ITHS chairman Badruddin, Mohammad Isa, managing director of Porcelanosa and Nuria Lopez, CEO Aritz, inaugurated the tournament.
